The show will have backdrop of Maharashtrian families...How far will Kartik go to keep his promise given to Survi's father forms the crux of the story ? Yeh Vaada Raha starts 21 September at 10PM every Monday to Friday only on Zee TV. The episode started with the celebration on Ganesh Chaturthi on 31st august 2003 in Mumbai. The introduction of Survi is made as she says" Ganapati bappa Moriya". her father's mobile is shown ringing but nobody picks up and hence get recorded as the 4th missed call. Survi goes into her house and finds her friend eating vada pav without studying. She chides Shanti and tells her that without reciting the three times table she will not get a vada pav and finally threatens to break their friendship. Shanti gets nervous and starts narrating. The phone starts ringing and Survi answers. The man on the other line claims to want to befriend her father. Her father enters and takes the call. The man on the other line makes Sreekant(Survi's father) nervous and tells him that he can't to the man's work. The man tells that he want Bhau(The Don King of the Chawl). The call ends and Survi sees the tension and asks about it and tells her father to at least talk about his tension to his friend Bhau. Survi and Shanti leaves. The girls are on their way when Survi notices a 50 rupee note. she decides that if they don't find the owner they would offer the money to god. As she goes to pick it up Karthik start pulling it towards him with a string. He and his friends have a good laugh at Survi's innocent attempts to pick up the note.Shanti address Karthik as her elder brother but sides with Survi when Karthik argues with Survi. Scene shifts to the man on the phone blocking Survi's way The scene shifts to Bhau's house where Tayi is trying to learn English from a modern(shown as gay) teacher. Tayi tells she has 3 kids whom she has sent to English medium school and she still needs an outsider's help to learn. Tayi is preparing a speech in English for hers and Bhau's 25th Wedding Anniversary. A small fight between 2 sisters is shown .Bhau enters and the commotion stops and the English teacher flees. Srikant enters but doesn't tell anything and Bhau assumes that he's come to give money. Bhau talks about threats to attack him that has been coming. The scene shifts to the man who called Srikant taking Survi as hostage in a house numbered 112. Survi is scared and upset due to this. Tayi asks Karthik if he would take a bullet for Bhau. Karthik's mom who is watching from the kitchen gets anxious. Tayi tells Karthik that he has a life because of Bhau. Karthik agrees that he'll take a bullet for Bhau and his mother is shocked and worried. Srikant gets a call about his daughter from the man and rushes out telling Bhau that he forgot to get the money and will return with it. Srikant sees that the men has kept Survi hostage and agrees to take them to Bhau. Tayi demands Hakka noodles from Lata(Karthik's Mom) and reminds her rudely that when she and her mentally unstable daughter and her son were homeless, Bhau and Tayi took them in and gave them a living. Karthik is doing his job and she should do her job too. Once Tayi sees Bhau and Karthik right outside the kitchen she speaks to in a sweet voice. Scene shifts to Bhau giving Karthik some weapons to be taken somewhere. Tayi asks Bhau if he trusts Karthik with such huge responsibilities. Bhau says that karthik should learn as he is going to inherit all of Bhau's illegal business. Bhau tells that he'll never let his own children take over the business bt Karthik can as he doesn't care of the boy lives or dies doing the business. He also tells Tayi to never forget to remind Lata about the favor that was done for them. On the way Karthik meets Srikant who was leading a group of men and ends up dropping the weapons. Srikant asks Karthik when he'll stop doing all this and karthik tells that he wants to stay with Bhau and learn the business and become like Bhau someday. he then asks Srikant why the latter is in tension and who these people are. One of the men with Srikant take Karthik at gun point and leads him away. The final scene is Karthik locked up in the same room as Survi. The episode starts with Kartik being thrown in the room where Survi is. Kartik tells Survi that her father betrayed bhav when he had helped him in all his needs. Survi protests saying those whom he thinks to be goons are actually police officers and they have threatened her father to kill her father and her. Kartik realizes that the one who has thrown him here is a police officer too. The scene shifts to sarvajanik Ganesh Chaturti where the police officers follow Survi's father to bhav's home Kartik on the other hands finds ways to escape. Throwing water from under the locked door Kartik forces the police officer to open the door and when the police officer he hits him with a wooden block and runs away leaving Survi behind. A bullet is fired and Kartik assumes that the police officer had shot the bullet on Survi Kartik runs back to the room where police officer locks them again and informs that this was a signal that everything is in control. at Bhav's home the police officer orders Bhav to tell the people in the chal who had accumulated under his house by the sound of the bullet that nothing has happened and he himself had shot the bullet by mistake Bhav does as instructed and goes and calms the chal. As Bhav returns tai warns Survi's father Shrikant that these police officers will come in a day and go but he has to stay in this chal and he has to face Bhav's anger for this betrayal. Police tells Taii that Bhav is going for life and will never return to which Taii warns him saying he doesn't have any idea how the chal will react as he goes off here police officer tells her that they have come with full preparations and if anything happens they may die but before dying they will make sure Bhav is dead hearing this Bhav's son Aniket tries running away to gather the chal but an officer shots his leg. Everyone gets alarmed hearing the bullet sound Kartik asks the police officer about this bullet and he says he has no idea he says they had only came here to arrest Bhav and had no intentions to hurt anyone and this was not even a single hearing which Kartik forces him to check out. The officers shouts on him saying not to teach him his duty and his duty is to keep the two under his control hearing this Kartik pushes the officer and rums taking Survi Scene shifts to Bhav's home where Bhav tries to kill the police officer for shooting bullet on Aniket but another police officer kills Bhav. Just at that moment Survi and Aniket reach there. Taii shouts informing everyone about this and the chal breaks down in Bhav's home. The police officer says Bhav is dead and even his control hearing this Taii gets angered and says Bhav might be dead but this chal won't let his killers live in peace. But the police officer warns them saying if they do anything their condition would be like Bhav and they all leave scared. Taii blames Shrikant for Bhav's death and Kartik threatens him saying he has to pay for Bhav's them. Kartik too blames him saying killing Bhav he again made him orphan to which Shrikant protests saying he was only told about getting Bhav arrested and he had no intentions to kill Bhav he only wanted his and Survi's safety Kartik hearing this tries to kill Shrikant but the officer protects and the episode ends with Kartik getting arrested and Survi hugging Shrikant. The episode starts with the family mourning over Bhau's death on one side and then police trying to get Srikant and Survi through the crowd who are threatening him and trying to hit them both. Scene shifts to the place in front of Survi's house where people comment on Srikant's betrayal. In the house Survi tells Srikant to tell Tayi the truth but he tells that Tayi is not in a mental state to listen to reason. Meanwhile, at the police station the inspector tries to eplain to Karthik and the others that killing Bhau was not the plan and a policeman can't be punished for shooting a don. He tells Karthik that Bhau wasn't a good man and he trioed to shoot a policeman. Karthik says that Bhau reacted that way because that police shot his, karthik's younger brother. They argue a while and the inspector tries to convince Karthik from letting go of revenge but Karthik stays strong and tells that Bhau was his father and that he'll kill all the policemen involved and will not leave Srikant either. Scene shifts to the people of the chawl helping catch hold of Srikant. It starts raining. Tayi announces that she will take over Bhau's business and rule and heads towards Srikant to kill him. Scene again shifts to the police station where one of the policeman hearing Karthik's threat gets furious and says that they should take an murder case which has no suspect and file it on Karthik and they can beat a fake confession out of him. That constable also says that they will remove all proof so that Karthik can enever complain to the court against the police for Bhau's death. The inspector then gets a call that shocks him. Scene shifts back to the chawl where Survi begs Tayi not to kill her father and to kill her instead. So then Tayi says that if not a life for a life then a leg for a leg. Tayi was on the verge of hurting Survi when the police intervene and take Tayi and Bhau's followers away from Srikant and Survi. Srikant and Survi are taken to the police station to safety. Survi is shaken by the events and her father tries to console her. The police officer tells them that they will not go back to the chawl as it is dangerous. The scene shifts to the officer's cabin. He tells Srikant to go to Dubai where they will get him a job and he can give Survi a better future. The police says that Tayi can be handled but not Karthik. he tells that Karthik has already made up his mind to hurt Srikant. Leap from 2003 to 2007 The episode starts with Shrikant and Survi coming to police station where Kartik is behind bars. Shrikant meets Kartik who tries to kill him but Shrikant makes Kartik understand that Bhau was not a good man he had to die. Shrikant further explains him that he has a family to look after and therefore he should follow a good path hearing that Kartik remembers his mother and his mad sister and leaves Shrikant. Shrikant leaves the cell asking Kartik to think about whatever he has said. After Shrikant leaving the police station Kartik is released and when Kartik asks why is he out the officer tells him that for all the help that Shrikant has done to the police force he has asked to release Kartik and remove all the charges on him. Police officer also gives him a packet which contains the papers of Shrikant home. Police officers leaves the scene asking him to forgive Shrikant if possible. After the officer leaves Kartik finds Shrikant's home keys also in the packet. The scene shifts to Bhau's home where everybody is shown mourning on Bhau's death. Kartik comes and promises Taii that before even his own family Bhau s family will be important to him and he will do anything that Taii asks him to do. Taii listening to this remembers that Bhau had asked her to make Kartik remind that he is doing a favour on him so Taii gives Kartik a Bhau's gun and asks him to replace bBhau. Kartik's sister gets scared seeing the gun and when asked Kartik's mother tells him that his father's death is due to the gun even Bhau is killed due to the same and now she cannot afford losing anyone else due to the same reason. Scene changes and a four year leap is shown where Survi and Shrikant now leave in Dubai and lead a peaceful life. Shrikant is shown oing to his office leaving Survi alone in the home and locking the door. At around 1pm when Survi was asleep the door is knocked and when Survi sees she finds Kartiik there and instantly gets worried for her father. The episode ends with Survi seeing Kartik from the door and Kartik being outside. Kartik and Survi holding each other's hand scared by the thought of plane getting crashed. The scene shifts to Kartik's home where Ganesh idol is brought for the Ganesh Chaturti that will tomorrow (15 September 2007). A news is revealed that the plane in which Kartik was coming is crashed. Hearing this Lata breaks down and Taii is too shown crying and begging to the idol for Kartik's return. She then runs to her room and is shown celebrating Kartik's death. Scene shits to a jungle where Survi is shown hanging on a tree and Kartik lying on the ground. Survi screams for help and Kartik wakes up and unties her parachute bringing her down. Survi fights with him saying coming by flight was the worst option while Kartik protest saying he had no idea the plane would crash and jumping with a parachute was an adventurous option. The scene shifts to kartik's home where the news is on and the reporter reveals that Kartik is a famous industrialist. The reporter also reveals that the plane in which Kartik travelled did crash but all the crew and passangers are saved as they had jumped off the parachute. Hearing this everyone gets happy and Taii daughters inform her that Kartik is alive and she starts blaming god. She comes down stairs and acts to be happy for his safety. Scene shifts to the jungle where now Kartik and Survi are finding ways to get to the highway. Survi suggests a road but Kartik doesn't listen to her and forces Survi to go in the direction he suggest walking where they reach a dead end on a cliff. Survi laughs at Kartik and informs that she had suggested the road because it looked a bit used by people living nearby. Kartik praises her for her observation and they go that way. While walking Survi asks Kartik about Shanti and lata where Kartik tells her that they both really miss her and will be really happy to know that she is back. But he given tells her that he never saw lata happy seeing her successful where Survi fights with him saying no mother is happy seeing their kids doing anything wrong. Kartik is shocked knowing the fact that Survi is misjudging him and tries to tell her that he did nothing wrong but Survi is shown being least interested. Kartik however forces Survi to listen. A flashback is shown where Kartik is shown telling tai that he would not do anything wrong to fulfill his promise. He says that he will earn the living of the family through good means. Kartik further takes bhau's vow listening to which Taii slaps him getting furious. Flashback ends and Kartik further adds that he had started a business with the money that Shrikant had given him and he now runs 5 factors. Survi gets happy seeing the key chain of her home door tied in Kartik's hand. Scene once again Shifts to kartik's home where Lata asks about the reason Kartik went to dubai and they get to know that Survi is coming hearing this Shanti gets happy and Lata too is shown smiling where as all others are shocked Taii gets a flashback of 4 years back and she declares that she cannot let bhau's murderers daughter stay in her house. The episode begins with Karthik and Sruvi getting off a truck in front of Karthik's house. He tells that they better go in as everyone will be worried. Survi is shocked seeing that Karthik owns a huge bungalow. She asks how Kartihk got this rich this soon and he said that four years is a long time for things to change. He tells her that they should go in as everyone will be worried especially Lata,Shanti and Tayi. When Survi hears Tayi's name she stops at the gate, scared. Karthik asks her what happened and Survi asks him if Tayi stays with him and if he asked Tayi about her staying with them. Karthik tells her that he didn't ask Tayi but everyone will be happy to see her. Survi says that she won't come in until he asks permission. Karthik agrees with her. At that time Raghu comes and Karthik tells him to stay with Survi while he goes and talks to Tayi. On the way to Tayi's room Karthik prays to Ganesha. Lata is very happy to see Karthik. She starts talking nervously about the plane crash and Karthik consoles her. Shanti comes in and asks about Survi and Karthik tells her to go meet Survi who is outside. Karthik asks where Tayi is. Tayi's three children come to the living room with their luggage. They say that they are leaving the house. Karthik asks what happened. They tell him to go ask Tayi as it's her decision. Scene shifts to outside the house where Shanti starts reciting the three times table and Survi and Shanti start getting emotional and hug. Shanti says she's upset with Survi as she hasn't heard from Survi in four years. Survi tries ti explain saying that her father told her not to ask anything about their life in Mumbai or contact anyone. Shanti gets convinced and asks Survi to come in but she doesn't budge. Scene shifts to Tayi drinking in her room while Karthik comes in. He asks why the room is dark and she says it reflects her luck. She tells him not to switch on the lights as she doesn't want anyone to see her cry. Karthik asks her what happened. She says that she had a misunderstanding. Her kids told her that it's his house when she considered the house hers. she thanks Karthik for all the help she got from him with her and her children. She then asks why Karthik brought the daughter of the man who is the reason Bhau got killed. Karthik tries to explain that it wasn't Srikant's fault. He then tells him that Srikant is framed for a crime he didn't do and Survi is all alone and he didn't feel right to leave Survi alone. Karthik tells Tayi that he promised Srikant to take care of Survi as long as Srikant is in jail. Karthik admits that everything happened so fast that he didn't remember about Bhau. Tayi asks if he'll forget her too. She then reminds him about his promise to her and tells him that to fulfill one the other promise should be broken. She tells him that she's leaving the house as Karthik can't arrange for Survi to leave anywhere else in Mumbai. Tayi goes down and tells her kids that by leaving the house they'll have to break ties with Lata, Shanti and Karthik. Lata tells her not to go and defends Karthik by saying that Karthik respects her and Srikant equally. Tayi tells that Lata is right but in the end he is fulfilling Srikant's promise. She tells that she has no grudge against Karthik and that she brought him up like her son and doesn't want to see him upset. She tells that Karthik can stay in the house with Survi and that they'll leave. Tayi's daughter reminds her that they have no place to go as they sold their old house in the chawl. Tayi tells her daughter that she's still alive and that she'll take care of everything. She tells also Karthik not to worry about them. Karthik remembers his promise to Tayi. Tayi tells him not to worry about them and to forget she was ever in his life. She tells that she is devastated and can't live under the same roof as Survi. She talks to God in her mind telling that she thought she's getting lucky and in the end the opposite happened. She tells Gad to save her from this situation. Tayi then tells Lata to take care of Karthik and is about to leave expecting Karthik to stop her. Karthik stops Tayi before she steps out and she's really happy and relieved. The episode starts with Kartik stopping Tayi and her kids from leaving his home. Lata tries explaining Kartik that Survi is small and before anyone else he would think about her but Kartik doesn't listen. Kartik says that he will do something about Survi but tayi stops him saying she knows he is right and she would take all bad on her and will make Survi explain. Kartilk and Tayi goes out to explain Survi and tayi indirectly warns Survi to stay away from her and Kartik's home. She further threatens Survi to not to interfere her life.. Survi gets really scared seeing tayi and starts Shivering Tayi smirks evilly seeing this and leaves. After tayi leaves Survi tells Kartik that she will stay alone and he doesn't needs to worry about her. Shanti disagrees to this and says Survi has came back in her life after years and now she won't let her leave but Survi tells Shanti that she will be staying in Mumbai and she can meet her whenever she wants. Scene shifts to inside the house and Tayi is shown threatening lata to follow her orders or else she might get Kartik killed. Lata gets scared hearing this and agrees to obey Tayi. Tayi further tells lata not to interfere in Kartik's life. Tayi says she is there for Kartik and Kartik will do as per her orders. Scene shifts to Raghu's home(please correct me if the name is wrong). Kartik and survi share a small fight over Survi's ideas for her future. Raghu gets frustrated and asks survi to tell her idea. Survi asks Kartik to admit her in some orphanage where he can be sure of her safety as well as not get worried over her staying alone. Kartik gets furious hearing this and says her ideas are of no use. After thinking for a while Kartik reaches to a conclusion. Scene shifts and Kartik and survi are shown with a lady who presummingly is the owner of some child care centre where Kartik generally donates money. Kartik says that if he trusts anyone totally in Mumbai then it is her and he knows she will take good care of Survi. The lady promises over Survi. Kartik further asks the lady about a girl named Gita who vanished from the centre. The lady gets worried hearing Gita's mention and says Gita had run off due to the strict rules of the home. Kartik doesn't fully agrees to her words but hopes over Gita's return. The episode ends with Kartik leaving the house but before leaving promises Survi to meet her everyday. And Survi asking Kartik to promise her not to tell Shrikant about her. Starts with a tensed Karthik. He agrees to Survi's requests. He tells her that they shall meet tomorrow and turns to leave from there. Survi calls out to him but he does not turn back. He walks on the road in a worried state. He recalls his past moments with Survi and also remembers the promise he had made to her dad. He becomes frustrated. He reaches his car and Raghu sees his state and asks about it. He asks Raghu whether he is angry with him as he as placed him in such a predicament. Raghu says it has already happened and there is no point in thinking on it. Karthik sasys he has left everything in God's hands and says he thinks that there is a reason why all of this happening. He says that he has been wronged but now Survi is in problems because of his stupidity. He gets ready to leave then stops. He goes to check on something and sees Survi and Sujata. They smile upon seeing him. Tai says to her children that Survi reached the house but wasn't able to enter. She says Survi's dad is responsible for her husband's death and her son's handicap. The family members say they have not forgotten this. She tells them not tothink that Karthik is doing a favour to them. She says that she knows him well and he always keeps his promises. SHe says that Karthik will try to get Survi to come into the house. She says she will never allow this to happen this. Aniket says that she is taking Karthik wrong. He gets up and leaves with his crutches. He says he will do what he feels is right and they won't have a says in this matter. He goes shocking everyone. In the morning, all are praying. Karthik says a special prayer for Survi's safety.He asks God to help him keep his promise to Survi's dad.Tai takes the lamp for him to take blessings. He does so.He asks the priest to give him some extra prasad. Tai asks who he is taking it for. He says he taking it to Sujata. Tai tells him that Sujata is a fraud and he should not do any favours for her. Karthik defends Sujata and says she is a nice nice woman and he is just trying to help her. She tells him he can do whatever he feels like. She knows that he has taken Survi to the Child Care centre. She thinks that now Survi will never come back as Sujata will get Survi in the business. Karthik asks Raghu whether the sweets for the facory workers are prepared. Raghu says yes. He gets ready to leave with Raghu when Shanti comes and says today is Survi's Birthday. She asks him to keep Survi Happy. Tai comes just as Latha is making arrangements and tells the servant to prepare for a grand buffet. She threatens him that he should not make a mistake. People start arriving. Tai shows a smiling face but is really annoyed.She decides to get rid of the people. It is known that Sujata is not really a caretaker but an actual human trafficker. She calls up her men to query about the business. They fill her in whilst Survi overhears the conversation. She gets scared.Meanwhile, Sujat eases the goons concern. She says she shall manage and they come with a plan. They grab Survi whilst she struggles to break free. Karthik and Raghu arrives at the care centre. He has a gift for Survi. He rings the doorbell. Sujata sees its Karthik and gets nervous. SHe asks her men to take Survi inside and to keep her quite.She composes herself and opens the door.Survi is handed over to another lady who gags her. Karthik meanwhile apologizes to Sujaat for having come unannounced. He says he came as today is Survi's birthday. She pretends to be surprised and says that even she got a gift for Survi as it is her birthday. She says she has sent all the girls to Mumbai on tour. He is surprised. Sujata asks if she should bring Survi back. He tells her its ok and asks her to give his present to Survi. He leaves and says he will come tomorrow. Sujata thinks that Survi will be problematic for her. She tells the goon to make Survi unconscious. Survi is taken aback. In the car, Karthik finds another gift that he had brought for Survi. He tells Raghu that he is careless and decides to take the gift back to Sujata. Survi is dressed as a Muslim woman with a Burqa.She sees Karthik but is unable to call out to him as her mouth is gagged. Karthik moves past her. She struggles to get free from the goons. Precap---Survi is still struggling to get free. Karthik collides with someone and drops the gift. He bends to retrieve it. Survi prays to Ganesha's idol. Karthik finds it strange that a Muslim woman is praying to a Hindu God. October 5 The episode starts with Survi struggling to get free from SCCC people’s grasp. Kartik accidently bumps into someone & the gift drops. As he bends down to pick the gift from the ground, Survi prays to Ganpati idol. It surprises Kartik as a Muslim woman is bowing to a Hindu god. While she’s taken off by the other men, he recognizes her as Survi. He chases them making his way through the crowd. Finally reaching for her, he lifts the burkha and finds it’s Survi. He finds that the other faces are Sujata and her team. He gets stunned and criminates them for doing such act. He then calls the police and get them caught. Sujata looks at him angrily. At Tai residence, Kamla-Tai says that she knows he is anxious for Sujata who got caught. Kartik says that she was right about Sujata. October 24 As per Kamla Taayi's orders, a trunk is brought to Dushyant's house and although Sarojini tries to inspect the trunk, Mannu tells her to let the trunk be kept in the store room. Meanwhile, Taayi and Kartik go on to look for Survi but in vain. Just then, Survi comes out of the trunk and walks freely inside the house. Seeing the kind hearted Sarojini, Survi tries to take her help but Mannu finds her first and ties her inside the store room. Moments later, Kartik and Taayi arrive at Dushyant's home and Sarojini finds out that he is looking for Survi. Sarojini assures Kartik that he will definitely succeed in his endeavour as it is the holy occasion of Dusshera. Meanwhile, Survi tries her best to free herself and prays for Kartik to save her.
